What this company does

Chevron carries out exploration and production activities in many of the world's major hydrocarbon basins. Its upstream and downstream activities, together with those of its equity affiliates, are dispersed across North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia, and are managed by the Oil, Products and Gas organization. Proved reserves at year-end 2025 amounted to approximately 10.6 billion barrels of oil-equivalent. Its refining network is capable of processing 1.8 million barrels per day. It markets petroleum products under the principal brands Chevron, Texaco and Caltex throughout many parts of the world. Directly or through retailers and marketers, it supplied approximately 8,600 Chevron- and Texaco-branded service stations, primarily in the southern and western states. The company also develops, produces and sells renewable fuels, among them renewable diesel, biodiesel, renewable natural gas and sustainable aviation fuel. Incorporated in Delaware in 1926 as Standard Oil Company of California, it adopted the name Chevron Corporation in 1984, became ChevronTexaco Corporation in 2001 and returned to the Chevron Corporation name in 2005.
