The consumer channel supplies nut-based and bar products, including consumer-packaged products, to retailers in the United States such as supermarket chains, wholesalers, supercenters and internet retailers. The commercial ingredient channel supplies nut-based products to other manufacturers that use them as ingredients in products such as bakery, confection, cereal and ice cream items. The contract manufacturing channel processes and packages nut and fruit-based snacks for other food companies under those companies' own brand names and specifications. John B. Sanfilippo & Son, Inc. was formed as a corporation under the laws of the State of Delaware in 1979, as the successor by merger to an Illinois corporation that was incorporated in 1959.
