What this company does

The company is an international owner and operator of dry bulk vessels providing worldwide transportation of dry bulk commodities for a broad range of customers. For its owned fleet, its chartering policy is to employ its vessels primarily on short-term time charters and index-linked charters. As of March 16, 2026, its owned fleet consisted of 31 vessels in the water, including one vessel it had agreed to sell and one vessel it had agreed to acquire, with a total carrying capacity of approximately 2,846,000 dwt. Iron ore, coal and grain constitute the majority of its cargoes, representing approximately 70%, 11% and 4%, respectively, of its cargoes for the year ended December 31, 2025. For the year ended December 31, 2025, based on the location of loading ports, 45% of its customer base was in Australia and New Zealand, 21% in South America, 12% in Africa, 10% in North America, 5% in Asia, 5% in the Middle East and India and 2% in Europe. As of December 31, 2025, Costamare Shipping, Costamare Services, CBI and the Agency Companies employed, in the aggregate, approximately 250 people, and approximately 650 seafarers were serving on the company's owned vessels. Its CBI business enhances and expands its offering to customers by providing services even if its owned vessels are unavailable, matching its customers' cargoes with third-party chartered-in vessels. As of March 16, 2026, the CBI business had chartered-in 19 vessels, excluding one vessel to be novated to Cargill and two vessels sub-chartered out to Cargill on back-to-back terms pursuant to the Cooperation Agreement, with a total carrying capacity of approximately 2,229,000 dwt.
