It has a network of 50 U.S. manufacturing plants and parts facilities in 19 states, which includes 11 vehicle assembly plants. At December 31, 2025, it employed approximately 88,000 hourly employees and approximately 68,000 salaried employees. Vehicles and automotive parts are marketed primarily through a network of independent authorized retail dealers. Its automotive operations serve customers through the GM North America (GMNA) and GM International (GMI) segments, with vehicles developed, manufactured and marketed under the Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC brands. The company also holds equity ownership stakes in entities that serve customers in other countries, primarily in China, whose vehicles carry the Baojun and Wuling brands among others. GM Financial conducts its business in North America, South America and through joint ventures in China, and provides retail loan and lease lending across the credit spectrum to support vehicle sales. General Motors Company was incorporated as a Delaware corporation in 2009.
