In brief

What this company does

KB Home builds a variety of new homes, including attached and detached single-family residential homes, townhomes and condominiums, designed primarily for first-time and first move-up, as well as second move-up and active adult, homebuyers. Its homebuilding operations represent the majority of its business, accounting for 99.6% of total revenues in 2025. Its financial services operations, which accounted for the remaining 0.4% of total revenues in 2025, offer various insurance products to its homebuyers in the markets where it builds homes and provide title services in certain of those markets. Its financial services operations also provide mortgage banking services, including residential consumer mortgage loan originations, to its homebuyers indirectly through KBHS Home Loans, LLC, an unconsolidated joint venture between the company and a third party. It has homebuilding operations in nine states and 49 major markets. For reporting purposes, it organizes its homebuilding operations into four segments: West Coast, Southwest, Central and Southeast. At November 30, 2025, it had approximately 2,118 full-time employees. The company has been building homes for nearly 70 years, with over 700,000 homes built since its founding in 1957.

Written from the business description in KB HOME's annual report to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, filed 23 January 2026. Every sentence was checked against that document before publication.
