During 2026, the Company generated 57 percent of its consolidated sales in markets outside of the United States, with principal international operations in Western Europe, China and India. The Company employed 8,073 people, including approximately 8,050 full-time employees, as of June 30, 2026, with approximately 2,500 located in the United States and 5,600 in other parts of the world, principally Germany, India and China. Kennametal operates in two segments: Metal Cutting and Infrastructure. The Metal Cutting segment manufactures tooling and metal cutting products and services, offering standard and custom metal cutting solutions to end markets including General Engineering, Transportation, Aerospace & Defense and Energy. The Company was founded based on a tungsten carbide technology breakthrough in 1938 and was incorporated in Pennsylvania in 1943 as a manufacturer of tungsten carbide metal cutting tooling.
