Century Aluminum Company is a global producer of primary aluminum and operates aluminum reduction facilities, or "smelters," in the United States and Iceland. It also holds a 55% joint venture interest in the Jamalco bauxite mining operation and alumina refinery in Jamaica, with the remaining 45% interest indirectly owned by the Government of Jamaica. It also owns a carbon anode production facility in the Netherlands that supplies carbon anodes to its aluminum smelter in Grundartangi, Iceland. It produced approximately 638,000 tonnes of primary aluminum in 2025. The company operates its business on a consolidated basis through a single operating segment, which is also its single reportable segment. For the year ended December 31, 2025, it derived approximately 54.0% of its consolidated sales from Glencore plc and its affiliates. As of December 31, 2025, it had 2,906 employees, of whom 1,324 were domiciled in the United States, 857 in Jamaica, 636 in Iceland and 89 in the Netherlands.
