Through NBT Financial, the company operates EPIC Advisors, Inc., a national benefits administration firm acquired by the company on January 21, 2005 and headquartered in Rochester, New York. Through NBT Holdings, the company operates NBT Insurance Agency, LLC, a full-service regional insurance agency acquired by the company on September 1, 2008, offering personal property and casualty, business liability and commercial insurance products. At December 31, 2025, the company had 2,303 full-time equivalent employees. NBT Bancorp Inc. is a registered financial holding company incorporated in the state of Delaware in 1986, with its principal headquarters located in Norwich, New York.
