In brief

What this company does

Quanex Building Products Corporation manufactures and distributes components for original equipment manufacturers in the building products industry, including window, door, solar, refrigeration, custom mixing, building access, and cabinetry markets. Its products include energy-efficient flexible insulating glass spacers, extruded vinyl profiles, window and door screens, precision-formed metal and wood products, window and door seals, and window and door hardware, as well as solar panel sealants, trim moldings, vinyl decking, water retention barriers, conservatory roof components, and commercial access solutions. As of October 31, 2025, it operated 34 manufacturing facilities located in 18 states in the U.S., 7 facilities in the U.K., 3 facilities in Mexico, 2 facilities in Italy, 1 facility in Germany, and 1 facility in Canada. As of October 31, 2025, it had 7,071 full-time employees located throughout its global organization. Its predecessor company, Quanex Corporation, was organized in Michigan in 1927 as Michigan Seamless Tube Company, was later reincorporated in Delaware in 1968, and changed its name to Quanex Corporation in 1977. Quanex Building Products Corporation was incorporated as a wholly-owned subsidiary in Delaware on December 12, 2007, to facilitate the separation of Quanex Corporation's vehicular products and building products businesses, a separation that became effective on April 23, 2008, through a spin-off of the building products business to Quanex Corporation's then-existing shareholders. On August 1, 2024, it completed its acquisition of Tyman plc, a company incorporated in England and Wales.

Written from the business description in QUANEX BUILDING PRODUCTS CORPORATION's annual report to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, filed 12 December 2025. Every sentence was checked against that document before publication.
