The Institutional Group segment includes research, equity and fixed income institutional sales and trading, investment banking, public finance, and syndicate. It provides securities transaction, brokerage, and investment services to clients through the consolidated Stifel branch system. The Company was organized in 1983. Its principal subsidiary, Stifel, Nicolaus & Company, Incorporated, is the successor to a partnership founded in 1890.
