In brief

What this company does

Grupo Simec produces SBQ steel, long steel and medium-sized structural steel products. It operates 12 steelmaking, processing and finishing facilities with a combined annual crude steel installed production capacity of 6 million tons and a combined annual installed rolling capacity of 5.9 million tons. Results are reported in three segments: Mexico, United States and Brazil. During 2025, approximately 55.25% of sales volume came from the Mexico segment, approximately 44.71% from the Brazil segment and approximately 0.04% from the U.S. segment. In its Mexican facilities the company produces I-beams, channels, structural and commercial angles, hot rolled bars, flat bars, rebar, cold finished bars, wire rods and wire products. Sales to the Mexican market are made through a group of approximately 100 independent distributors, who also carry competitor product lines, and through a wholly-owned distribution center in Guadalajara. In its Brazil facilities it produces rebars, channels, and structural and commercial angles. It continues to own all of its plants, including those in the United States, where it ceased all production activities in 2023 and operated none of the facilities during 2024 and 2025.
