Its custom containers business has 21 manufacturing facilities in the United States and Canada. The company estimates that in 2026 approximately 90 percent of its projected metal container sales and a majority of its projected dispensing and specialty closures and custom container sales will be under multi-year customer supply arrangements. Silgan Holdings was founded in 1987 by R. Philip Silver and D. Greg Horrigan. Since its inception, it has acquired forty-one businesses.
