Nexa Resources S.A. develops and operates mining and smelting assets in Latin America. It owns and operates five polymetallic mines — four underground and one open-pit — in Peru and Brazil. It also owns and operates three zinc smelters, two in Minas Gerais, Brazil, and one in Lima, Peru, which produce metallic zinc, zinc oxide and several by-products. In 2025, its mining operations produced 315.6 thousand tonnes of zinc contained in concentrates, 33.4 thousand tonnes of copper contained in concentrates, 63.1 thousand tonnes of lead contained in concentrates, 10.9 million ounces of silver and 38.2 thousand ounces of gold, for a total of 672.4 thousand tonnes of metal on a zinc equivalent basis. The company markets its products in Latin America and globally through commercial offices in Luxembourg, the United States, Brazil and Peru, and owns hydroelectric power plants in Brazil and Peru. The company commenced operating in 1956 under the name “Companhia Mineira de Metais” in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. In October 2017, it completed its initial public offering and listed its common shares on the New York Stock Exchange and the Toronto Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol NEXA.
