What this company does

Rigel Pharmaceuticals sells TAVALISSE (fostamatinib disodium hexahydrate), the only approved oral spleen tyrosine kinase inhibitor for the treatment of adult patients with chronic immune thrombocytopenia who have had an insufficient response to a previous treatment. It in-licensed REZLIDHIA (olutasidenib), its second FDA-approved product, indicated for the treatment of adult patients with relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia with a susceptible isocitrate dehydrogenase-1 mutation, from Forma Therapeutics, Inc., now Novo Nordisk, under a license and transition services agreement entered into in July 2022. GAVRETO (pralsetinib), its third FDA-approved product, which it began commercializing in June 2024, is an oral kinase inhibitor of RET fusions approved for adult patients with metastatic RET fusion-positive non-small cell lung cancer and for adult and pediatric patients 12 years of age and older with advanced or metastatic RET fusion-positive thyroid cancer; it acquired the rights to GAVRETO from Blueprint Medicines Corporation, now a Sanofi SA company, under an asset purchase agreement entered into in February 2024. Its development pipeline includes R289, a dual interleukin receptor-associated kinases 1 and 4 inhibitor program being advanced in an open-label Phase 1b study to determine the safety, tolerability and preliminary efficacy of the drug in patients with lower-risk myelodysplastic syndrome who are relapsed, refractory or resistant to prior therapies. As of December 31, 2025, it had 172 full-time and 2 part-time employees, of whom 85 were engaged in commercial activities, 52 in development activities, and 37 in general and administrative activities. Its principal executive office is located at 611 Gateway Boulevard, Suite 900, South San Francisco, California.
