Schrödinger licenses its computational software platform to biopharmaceutical and industrial companies, academic institutions and government laboratories, and applies the platform to advance both a portfolio of drug discovery programs in collaboration with biopharmaceutical companies and a pipeline of proprietary drug discovery programs that it is advancing through preclinical and clinical development. In 2025, all of the top 20 pharmaceutical companies, ranked by 2024 revenue, licensed the company's software solutions. As of February 3, 2026, the company had 850 full-time employees, of whom 587 were located in the United States and 263 in its offices outside the United States. As of January 20, 2026, the company wholly owned approximately 15 pending U.S. patent applications and approximately 140 pending non-U.S. patent applications related to its proprietary drug discovery business. In June 2022, the FDA cleared the company's first investigational new drug application, for its MALT1 inhibitor, SGR-1505. The company was founded in 1990.

EPS, diluted, dividend per share and shares outstanding are shown without shading, and a vertical line marks the year the share count changed — the series crosses a large, unexplained change in share count, so the years on either side are not on a comparable scale.
