Through EVgo eXtend, it provides hardware, design and construction services for charging sites, as well as ongoing operations, maintenance, networking and software integration, while customers purchase and retain ownership of the charging assets. It also owns PlugShare, a platform on which EV drivers locate and share information relating to public charging stations, offer feedback, plan trips, and rate their charging experiences. As of December 31, 2025, the company had 376 full-time employees. EVgo Services was formed in October 2010 as NRG EV Services, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of NRG, and began operations in 2011. The company itself was incorporated in Delaware on August 4, 2020 under the name Climate Change Crisis Real Impact I Acquisition Corporation.
