What this company does

J.Jill markets apparel, footwear and accessories under the J.Jill brand name, sold primarily through its ecommerce platform and catalog channel and its retail stores channel. As of January 31, 2026, it operated 256 stores across 42 states, ranging from approximately 2,000 to 6,000 square feet each, with an average store size of approximately 3,700 square feet. For Fiscal Year 2025, it generated approximately 52% of total net sales through its Retail channel and approximately 48% through its Direct channel. Within its Retail channel, when an item is not in stock at a local store, its in-store ordering platform ships the product to the customer's home. Its Direct channel consists of its website and catalog orders; within that channel, ecommerce represented approximately 97% of net sales and phone orders represented 3%. It leases a 520,000 square foot distribution and customer contact center in Tilton, New Hampshire, which handled 28 million units in Fiscal Year 2025, split between 13 million retail units and 15 million direct units. It sources merchandise from 10 countries, with India, Indonesia and Vietnam the top three by volume, and no single supplier accounts for more than 20% of merchandise purchased by volume. The company was originally organized as Jill Intermediate LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, in February 2011, and on February 24, 2017 it converted into a Delaware corporation and changed its name to J.Jill, Inc.
