It is a Minnesota corporation with its global headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The company manages the business in two operating segments, the Protein Sciences segment and the Diagnostics and Spatial Biology segment. The Protein Sciences segment, representing approximately 72% of net sales in fiscal 2025, comprises the Reagent Solutions division and the Analytical Solutions division. The Diagnostics and Spatial Biology segment, representing approximately 28% of net revenues in fiscal 2025, includes three divisions focused on spatial biology, liquid biopsy, molecular diagnostics kits and products, and diagnostics reagents. The company was founded in 1976 as Research and Diagnostic Systems, Inc. and became publicly traded in 1985 through a merger with Techne Corporation.
