In brief

What this company does

Culp markets fabrics and other products to a global customer base, including fabrics produced at its own manufacturing facilities and fabrics produced by other suppliers. In fiscal 2026, the company operated production and distribution facilities in North Carolina, Shanghai, China, and Ouanaminthe, Haiti, and sourced fabrics and cut and sewn kits from other manufacturers located primarily in China, Vietnam, and Turkey. At the end of fiscal 2025, Culp combined its two operating divisions, Culp Upholstery Fabrics and Culp Home Fashions, into one unified business, though for financial reporting purposes its operations remain classified into two operating segments, bedding and upholstery. The bedding business markets primarily knitted and woven fabrics, as well as sewn covers made from those fabrics, used in the production of bedding products such as mattresses, foundations, and mattress sets. The upholstery business markets fabric products used in residential, commercial, and hospitality upholstered furniture, including sofas, recliners, chairs, loveseats, sectionals, sofa-beds, and seating for offices, healthcare facilities, restaurants, hotels, and theaters. Serta-Simmons Bedding (SSB) is the company's largest customer in the bedding segment, accounting for approximately 13% of the company's consolidated sales in fiscal 2026. La-Z-Boy Incorporated is the company's largest customer in the upholstery segment, accounting for approximately 12% of the company's consolidated sales in fiscal 2026. Culp, Inc. was organized as a North Carolina corporation in 1972 and made its initial public offering in 1983.
